SEN Teaching Assistant - FY3 Area | September Start

Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the FY3 area from September.

This rewarding role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing school environment.

The Role

Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position
September start
Supporting a KS1 child on a 1:1 basis
Implementing tailored support strategies in line with the child's individual needs
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
Assisting with both academic and social development throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who has:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting
Experience working with pupils in KS1
A strong understanding of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
