Accounts Assistant - Interim

An established organisation on the Fylde Coast is seeking an experienced Interim Accounts Assistant to support the finance team during a busy period. This is a short-term assignment of approximately 1-2 months, ideal for someone who can quickly integrate into the team and help clear a backlog of finance work. This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and previous experience within a busy finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Assisting with bank reconciliations.
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Processing payment runs where required.
• Assisting with month-end finance tasks.
• Resolving invoice queries and liaising with internal stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team.
• Helping clear a backlog of transactional finance work.
• Undertaking general finance administration duties as required.

About You

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Administrator position.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
• Able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Available to start at short notice.
