Formed through the combination of Anderson Mechanical Services, Inc. and Inspiration Plumbing Company, VMG brings together experienced teams with a shared commitment to quality, safety, and performance.

As a family-owned and operated company, we combine a close-knit team environment with the resources and capabilities of a large specialty contractor.

The Opportunity

VMG is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects from startup through closeout.

In this role, you will direct daily jobsite activities, lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and keep work moving safely and efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, general contractors, and project partners to deliver quality installations while meeting schedule and budget requirements.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who plans ahead, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of both team performance and project results.

What You'll Do Field Leadership and Project Execution
  • Manage daily field operations from mobilization through punch-list completion and closeout.

  • Plan work sequences, establish priorities, and communicate schedules and milestones.

  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, deliveries, and site access.

  • Monitor progress and adjust field activities to meet project requirements.

  • Identify conflicts and obstacles early and work with the project team to resolve them.

  • Represent VMG in coordination meetings with general contractors, clients, and project partners.

Team Management and Coordination
  • Lead field crews and coordinate subcontractors to maintain productive, organized jobsites.

  • Assign work, communicate expectations, and monitor crew performance.

  • Coach team members and provide clear, constructive feedback.

  • Coordinate with project managers and internal departments on staffing, procurement, and project needs.

  • Build a jobsite culture centered on accountability, teamwork, and professional conduct.

Safety and Quality
  • Enforce VMG safety policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific requirements.

  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections and safety meetings.

  • Identify and address hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly.

  • Verify installations meet approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.

  • Monitor workmanship and coordinate timely correction of deficiencies.

  • Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles.

Planning, Documentation, and Cost Control
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and project changes to guide field execution.

  • Track labor hours, productivity, material usage, and field costs.

  • Complete accurate daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and progress updates.

  • Communicate schedule risks, cost concerns, and resource needs promptly.

  • Coordinate required inspections and support testing, commissioning, and closeout activities.

What We're Looking For
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.

  • HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or MEP construction experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and manage daily jobsite operations.

  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling, sequencing, manpower planning, and cost control.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to make timely field decisions and follow through on commitments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management tools.

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

What VMG Offers
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • Per diem offered.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Paid time off and company holidays.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.

  • Ongoing training and professional development.

  • Opportunities to advance into senior field leadership and project management.

  • A supportive team environment where your experience and leadership make an impact.
