New River Valley Community Services' Emergency Services is seeking a Phone Room Case Manager! The Case Manager role provides phone triage, screening services, referral, and support for individuals with Mental Health, Substance Use, Intellectual Disabilities, and Co-Occurring Disorders, in addition to referring individuals in crisis to Emergency Services staff. This case management position involves completing phone screening documentation to identify potential treatment needs and determine the appropriateness of NRVCS programs, as well as deciding third‑party insurance benefits or other funding sources.
The position is also responsible for scheduling services with the appropriate NRVCS providers. The Case Manager coordinates services and/or resources needed by the consumers to support their basic needs and enable them to remain and function optimally in the community. As Emergency Services staff provide services to the clients/families/caregivers, some job duties may include telephone crisis intervention and/or empathy.
Starting Hourly Rate: $20.63-Depending on Experience
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma with at least one year of experience in a setting working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders and/or developmental disabilities is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or Human Services related field is preferred.
- Experience in a setting working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders and/or developmental disabilities is helpful.
Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages.
