The University Investigator and Title IX Specialist is responsible for managing and conducting impartial investigations and resolutions related to Title IX and gender‑based violence matters in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the university’s adherence to Title IX, Title VII, the Clery Act, VAWA, and other applicable regulations. The investigator will conduct prompt and thorough investigations, including interviewing involved parties, collecting and securing relevant documentation, and analyzing findings to prepare a comprehensive and unbiased investigative report.
In addition to investigative responsibilities, this role involves assessing and offering appropriate supportive and protective measures for involved parties and collaborating with university stakeholders to uphold compliance and promote a fair, impartial campus environment.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree and experience conducting investigations
- Demonstrated judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, problem solving techniques, interviewing and investigation
- Analytical skills and the ability to assess and negotiate complex, highly sensitive situations; exceptional critical thinking skills including the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate resolution of difficult challenges
- Skills in writing concise, logical analytical reports to convey complex issues
- Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress
- Commitment to diversity and success in working with diverse constituencies, both domestic and international, to support an inclusive campus environment
- Strong and effective interpersonal skills
- The ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs
- Ability to work as part of a university-wide community to resolve complaints in a neutral and sensitive manner
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and productive relationships with staff at all levels at the university
- Ability to read and interpret complex legal documents
- Demonstrated training experience
- Juris Doctorate degree or Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience in an office of discrimination and harassment prevention or compliance
- Professional experience conducting investigations in a university setting
- Title IX Investigator training certification
- Experience presenting information and concepts to groups through workshops and meetings

Salary InformationCommensurate with experience with a salary range up to $81,000 per year

This position may be prominently onsite during the training/onboarding period then may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days on site, 2 days remote.
