CHEESE SHOP/CLERK – Kroger

Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and collaborate with the Deli/Bakery merchandising team to create an engaging atmosphere. • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and provide product recommendations.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Deliver fresh products to customers with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell‑by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products when requested.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and note any discrepancies.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are updated.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting issues.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑pace, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, or older adults.

• High school education or equivalent.
• Comparable retail experience.
