Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the Antenatal Clerical team located across four sites – Royal Gwent Hospital, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr, Nevill Hall Hospital and County Hospital.

This role involves both reception and office administrative duties including data inputting, booking appointments, answering patient queries and liaising with various stakeholders including midwives, GPs and consultants.

The successful candidate will contribute to a patient-focused environment by using strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills to support the delivery of safe and effective care.

Main duties of the job

Duties will be:

Work collaboratively as a member of the Antenatal Clerical and Reception Team to support the delivery of a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality service.

Provide an excellent standard of customer service, acting as the first point of contact for patients attending antenatal outpatient clinics and ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience.

Respond to telephone enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

Action new and follow-up appointments, ensuring all bookings and associated outcomes are processed accurately and in line with departmental procedures and timescales.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information across multiple systems, including WPAS, Badger Net, and Soliton, ensuring data quality and confidentiality standards are upheld.
