In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £19,528.41-£20,173.39 (including holiday uplift) FTE £28,128-£29,057. The Person al Development Tutor Role:
As our Personal Development Tutor , you will facilitate the cross college Personal Development Tutorial Programme (BPC Grow) and to provide ongoing support to students to promote their achievement across all aspects of the study programme, so they can succeed both in college and beyond. To help students develop the skills, values, and behaviours that prepare them for adulthood, employment, and life outside education.

To ensure the highest quality learning experience for all students, aligned to a responsive personal development programme that meets and anticipates current and future needs of our learning community. Responsibilities as our Personal Development Tutor will include:
Developing a relationship with a cohort of students, providing a trusted friendly point of contact, to encourage a healthy transition from school to college whilst ensuring students develop personally and socially. Working with students to encourage pastoral and academic success, self-esteem, self-confidence and achievement. Facilitate workshops and small-group sessions via BPC Grow and to provide cover across the team where required.

To use interactive, student-led approaches rather than formal teaching. Monitoring Children in Care (CiC) and vulnerable students to ensure progress is being made through close liaison with departmental teaching staff. Working closely with teaching teams, including Learning Managers, to monitor and ensure excellent attendance of students within their cohort. and robustly follow up on poor attendance and student feedback to ensure attendance and student feedback is exemplary.

Adapt delivery to meet specific group need. Often acting as first point of contact in a range of safeguarding and wellbeing scenarios using various support techniques, information gathering and signposting to the safeguarding and wellbeing teams in line with protocols and policies. Supporting, promoting and implementing the Positive Behaviour Policy. Taking responsibility for ensuring appropriate support techniques are used to deal with concerns and behaviours that challenge.

Maintaining and updating student records systems to facilitate regular and timely communication and the reporting of data to review the impact of the role and service. Supporting students through their preparation for progression in conjunction with members of the Careers Advice and Guidance Team. Supporting and delivering progression and employability activities as required as part of BPC Grow. Working alongside the Lead Personal Development Tutor, Learning Managers, Student Experience staff and Student Experience Manager to ensure student needs are being fulfilled, and signposting towards relevant support as required.

To support students within BPC Grow sessions to contextualise topics to their relevant industries. Act as keyworker for Children in Care (CiC) and Care Leavers (CL) students, involving 121 sessions, continual review of progression, and preparation, attendance and recording of Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, liaising with external…
