Initial 12-month contract
3 days p/w in Oakdale (rest remote)
£425pd, Umbrella, inside IR35

Our client, a leading name in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a talented Electrical CAD Engineer for a contract role. This exciting opportunity will see you join the Design Team of the SV Programme and Wheeled vehicles, where your contribution will emphasise safety, cost-efficiency, and ease of manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce design solutions including concepts, packaging, and platform installation design
Maintain the integrity of the design solution, ensuring safety
Support the design process throughout the project lifecycle
Align CAD to BoM at Platform Level
Manage BoM at platform level
Implement Engineering Design Changes
Ensure installation design solutions fulfil vehicle requirements
Prepare material for internal and external design reviews
Communicate design options and constraints effectively to the Lead Engineer
Job Requirements:
Experience in electrical engineering and design, particularly within the defence sector
Proficient in CAD software, ideally Pro Engineer Wildfire4/Creo/Creo 3
Proficient user of Windchill PDMLink
Experience in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
Ability to produce detailed design drawings
Strong understanding of BoM management and maintenance
Experience with military vehicle design (desirable)
Understanding of standards related to defence work, such as Defence Standards (desirable)
