You will be working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees. You can have a career within the criminal justice system helping some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Qualifications & Experience

We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years' post qualification experience, who want to deliver gold standard care and be a proud part of a team with vision and passion for developing clinical, forensic and wider skills.

You must be able to work flexibly not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.

Salary Information

Below is based on shifts per month.

  • £20.50 per hour – 1-2 shifts
  • £22.50 per hour – 3-5 shifts
  • £24.50 per hour – 6+ shifts
Licences & Certifications
  • HCPC/NMC (required)
  • Driving Licence (required)
  • Must be a UK resident for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months
  • All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting
What does the role involve?

In the custody suites you will work in a dynamic environment where no two shifts are the same. While detainees are in care, you will provide all their physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs, gather forensic samples needed by the police, make careful records on our computerised systems, assess whether people are fit to be detained or released, administer medications when needed, and work with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can prevent future crime.

No previous forensic experience required – we will provide all your training.
