Registered Veterinary Nurse (Maternity Cover)
Are you a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step in your career in a supportive, progressive environment? This role is to cover maternity leave for a period of 12 months on a part-time fixed-term basis. The position offers an opportunity to utilise nursing skills to the fullest, with commitment to ongoing development and learning.
OverviewThis is a part-time role working 24 hours per week across 3 x 8 hour shifts. Working days are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with shifts varying between 8:30am-5:00pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 9:30am-6:00pm or 10:00am-6:30pm.
Our practice is in Blackwood, South Wales, with easy access to Newport, Cardiff and the surrounding countryside.
About the practiceSummerwood is a busy, small animal practice with four consult rooms (one brand new), a brand new cattery, separate cat and dog kennels, waiting areas, theatre and prep room. Facilities include x-ray, dental x-ray, dental machine, ultrasound and Idexx lab equipment.
Ideal candidateYou must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a proactive, can-do attitude. Previous experience in a hospital environment is ideal but not essential — we welcome applications from those eager to develop their skills. Full training will be provided across all areas.
ResponsibilitiesThe role involves delivering high-quality nursing care in a busy practice, supporting the veterinary team and contributing to patient welfare during the maternity cover period.
