Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - Part-time

Salary up to £37,485 DOE

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic team at Summerwood Vets on a part‑time basis for a 12 month FTC covering 21 hours per week. This is a great opportunity for a like‑minded individual to join our close‑knit group, who put pet care at the centre of everything they do. The role will entail all standard vet responsibilities including surgery and consults.

No weekends or out‑of‑hours (OOH) – we are flexible and can work with a rota suited to you. Typically our hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

There is also the option to work at our Summercourt practice.

Summerwood is a busy, small‑animal practice located in Blackwood, South Wales, with easy access to Newport, Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons, and Cwmcarn Drive. The area offers a range of entertainment – cinema, gyms, shopping, pubs – and scenic hiking opportunities.

The spacious practice boasts 4 consultation rooms (one brand new), a brand‑new cattery, separate cat and dog kennels, waiting areas, a theatre and prep room, a full dental suite with x‑ray, a multi‑parameter blood pressure machine, ultrasound, laparoscopic spay equipment, and Idexx lab equipment.
