The RoleAs a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in generating revenue and delivering agreed sales targets through the effective management of Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), customer referrals, pipeline opportunities, new customer onboarding, and lapsed account re-engagement.
Working closely with the wider sales and customer teams, you will be responsible for converting opportunities into long-term, profitable customer relationships while ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the onboarding journey.
Key Responsibilities- Drive new business revenue through proactive management of MQLs, referrals, and prospect opportunities.
- Convert Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) into Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded and updated in real time within CRM systems.
- Proactively engage with customers to maximise account potential and encourage long-term customer tenure.
- Re-engage lapsed customers and identify opportunities to bring accounts back into active trading.
- Book and coordinate new business appointments.
- Support the successful onboarding of new customers, retaining and nurturing accounts throughout the first four weeks of trading.
- Deliver comprehensive account handovers to the appropriate sales team member following the onboarding period.
- Maintain accurate reporting across key sales KPIs
- Previous experience within a new business telesales, business development, or sales environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A self-motivated, proactive, and tenacious approach to achieving targets.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and customer service skills.
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities and a natural talent for connecting with customers.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous under pressure.
