This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation. We pay an attractive salary of £42,839- £46,142 and offer access to training and development opportunities. This post attracts a Market Supplement of £3,551 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments. As a Senior Practitioner within the 16+ Service, you will provide practice leadership and support to a dedicated team working with children in care and care leavers.
You will manage and oversee complex cases, lead on contextual safeguarding and risk management, provide mentoring and reflective supervision to colleagues, and deputise for the Team Manager in their absence. Working in partnership with young people, families and multi-agency professionals, you will drive high-quality practice, champion positive outcomes and ensure statutory responsibilities are met. This is an exciting opportunity to influence service development and support young people in care and as they leave care.
- Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- Up to date knowledge of current legislation and statutory regulations, research and practice in relation to the relevant service area.
- Post qualification experience in social work - fieldwork.
- Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants. This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body).
The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
