Panel Shop Manager

Panel Shop Manager Direct Hire | Blaine, MN | $125k - $145k

We are seeking an experienced Panel Shop Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our control-panel fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will combine hands‑on expertise in panel building/fabrication with strong leadership, workflow optimization, quality assurance, and continuous improvement capabilities.

• Direct and manage daily shop operations: scheduling jobs, tracking workflow, assigning resources and labor to meet production deadlines
• Lead the fabrication of electrical control panels (industrial control, PLC cabinets, motor controls, etc.). Oversee layout, wiring, assembly, enclosure modification, testing, and shipping
• Serve as a liaison between engineering/design and shop floor: ensure that drawings, bills of materials, and specifications are communicated clearly and executed accordingly
• Monitor quality and safety: enforce shop safety protocols, ensure compliance with industry standards (UL 508A, NEC, NFPA), perform quality inspections, and identify root causes when issues arise.
• Manage material inventory, tooling, and maintenance of equipment
• Develop, coach, and mentor the shop team: hire as needed, provide training, conduct performance reviews

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical panel fabrication, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial control panels, wiring practices, schematics, enclosure builds, drives, PLCs, motor controls, and test procedures
• Familiarity with standards such as UL 508A, NEC, NFPA 70, etc.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team, set production schedules, manage workflow, and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work across departments and engage with both shop and management levels
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems (or willingness to learn)
