The Quality Technician II performs quality inspection on parts, components and products that are received, in-process, and finished per customer, company, and regulatory requirements. Assists with the design, development and implementation of inspection methods, plans, and testing equipment. Will run CMM’s in production environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Using work instructions, job traveler, blueprints, engineer drawings and specifications; inspects, checks, and tests materials, parts, components, and product during various stages of production including leave, in-process, and finished.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; handle complex GD&T with limited guidance.
- Select appropriate inspection tools and perform accurate, repeatable measurements.
- Conduct dimensional, bore, plate-based, and functional inspections independently.
- Perform part alignments, surface evaluations, hardness checks, and visual inspections.
- Execute inspection CMM programs and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
- Verify equipment calibration status prior to use.
- Complete inspection documentation accurately, including DHRs, travelers, and inspection records.
- Write basic Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) independently.
- Communicate inspection results clearly with operators, supervisors, and quality personnel.
- Manage assigned workload independently while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and support overall quality objectives.
- Adapt to changing priorities with some guidance while maintaining performance.
- Take ownership of work and promptly identify and escape quality issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of metrology including measurement machines (CMM).
- Must be able to pass annual visual exam (20-25, corrected, uncorrected, one eye).
- Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
- Proven ability to work independently in a manufacturing or quality environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn new processes and apply feedback consistently.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All employees must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Experience working in the Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge and use of metrology programming software.
- ISO 9001:
AS9100 and ISO 13485 experience. - Certified Quality Inspector.
- Certified Weld Inspector.
Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors related to the specific position. These may include skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
