Edwards Oil and Propane is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused, dependable, mechanically inclined, and results-driven Refrigeration-HVAC Technician to make a difference in the lives of people throughout Northern Minnesota.
Our technicians enjoy variety in their work and take pride in keeping our customers' heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems running safely and efficiently. They build long-lasting customer relationships while installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of residential and commercial systems.
The ideal candidate understands HVAC and refrigeration systems, enjoys learning new skills, can apply basic math and technical knowledge, and wants to be someone customers and co-workers can depend on.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Install heating and cooling appliances, propane gas systems, and fuel-oil distribution systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on customer heating and cooling systems
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems at Edwards Oil and Propane facilities
- Maintain and repair coolers, refrigeration equipment, and HVAC systems at Lucky Seven General Store locations
- Use tools and diagnostic instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair, and test HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Explain system problems and recommended repairs clearly to customers
- Provide customers with accurate repair estimates when applicable
- Protect customers' property by completing installations and repairs safely and professionally
- Accurately document service calls, repairs, inventory, and daily paperwork using company computer systems
- Maintain accurate inventory in the assigned service vehicle
- Keep the company vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and in safe working condition
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Two-year HVAC or refrigeration degree from an accredited school
- At least five years of HVAC or refrigeration service-technician experience
- CFC certification
- Strong computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong diagnostic abilities
- Ability to read and understand technical instructions, manuals, and written materials
- Clean driving record
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to work approximately 45-50 hours per week
- Boiler operator's license
- Class B CDL with tanker, hazardous-materials, and air-brake endorsements
- EPA certification
- Additional HVAC or refrigeration certifications
- Experience installing and repairing propane and fuel-oil systems
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Enjoy a fast-paced, steady work environment
