Working Environment & Physical DemandsOfficers work in an oil refinery, sitting or standing for extended periods either indoors or in inclement weather, and operate a company vehicle. Applicants must complete a post‑offer pre‑hire physical.

Work ScheduleSecurity Officers rotate 12‑hour shifts 1 week on / 1 week off. A base pay period of 2 weeks earns 64 regular hours plus 20 overtime hours. Open availability is required for days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional shifts may be required during refinery turnaround or to cover open shifts.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or obtain
- State of Washington Security Officer license or obtain
- Speak, write, and comprehend English and apply written and verbal policies and procedures
- Open availability days, nights, weekends, and holidays due to a rotating schedule
- Minimum two years working in law enforcement, fire service, military police, corrections, or a private security company
- Conduct vehicle and foot patrols
- Respond to incidents, call for assistance, or request
- Observe, recall, and distinguish characteristics of persons, suspects, vehicles, locations, or property
- Perform searches of people, vehicles, vessels, buildings, and large outdoor areas
- Conduct visual surveillance for extended periods of time
- Observe and confront suspicious persons, assess intentions, and take action as appropriate
- Effectively and coherently initiate communication or respond using a two‑way radio or telephone
- Utilize clear and appropriate communication skills when communicating with people
- Comprehend, evaluate, and correctly respond to information received
- Gather information for investigations by interviewing and obtaining verbal or written statements of all participants and witnesses
- Reduce the results of investigative findings into written form so as to clearly and accurately reflect the information obtained
- Read, comprehend, and employ policies and procedures
- Exercise sound judgment in determining appropriate action to be taken during changing situations
- Maintain composure and control when encountering a hostile person or situation
- Safely operate a motor vehicle during both day and night, in a variety of settings, environments, and varying weather conditions
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and situational awareness in a safe manner
