Job Description & How to Apply Below
Plant Engineer
Location: Blair, Nebraska (Plant-Based)
Reports to: Director of Plant Operations
We’re looking for an Engineer who wants to learn, grow, and build real‑world experience in a hands‑on manufacturing setting. If you’re energized by troubleshooting, data analysis, and understanding how polymer processes work on the plant floor, this role provides an excellent opportunity to launch your engineering career. This isn’t a sit‑behind‑a‑desk position — it’s a role where you’ll be actively involved in daily operations.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Support day‑to‑day polymer plant operations—troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and recommending practical solutions.
- Work directly with operators and process equipment, learning how the plant runs and helping drive stable, reliable performance.
- Analyze operating and historical data to improve yield, quality, and cost, and assist in implementing plant trials to validate improvements.
- Provide technical support to the operations team, strengthening operating discipline as your own expertise grows.
- Partner across functions—maintenance, EH&S, logistics, and technology—to keep operations safe, efficient, and aligned.
- Participate in on‑call coverage during critical manufacturing periods to support safe and reliable operations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Internship, co‑op, or limited full‑time experience in process engineering, plant operations, or manufacturing—new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and recommend next steps
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn through hands‑on work
- A collaborative, steady approach—able to communicate clearly and work closely with operations and other teams
- This role is a great fit for candidates with an engineering degree seeking to develop practical, in‑the‑plant skills while progressing in their engineering career.
- You want to learn manufacturing from the ground up and build a strong technical foundation.
- You’re excited by hands‑on work—understanding processes, equipment, and how decisions affect performance.
- You enjoy tackling challenges, testing ideas, and seeing your work translate into real results.
- You value a team culture where people show up, support each other, and take pride in doing things well.
- Pay Range: $90,000 to $105,000 with 8% annual bonus potential
- Paid Time Off: 3 weeks of vacation, 3 floating holidays, and 9 company‑paid holidays
- Family Sick Time: 56 hours (7 days) per year
- 401(k) Plan: 5.5% automatic contribution plus 50% match on the first 6%
- Insurance:
Medical, dental, and vision coverage - Disability Coverage:
Fully paid Short‑Term and Long‑Term Disability - Day‑One Benefits:
All benefits begin on your first day of employment
If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a team that values smart work, shared goals, and mutual respect — we’d like to hear from you.
