Job Description Summary

The Industrial Electrical Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, ensuring safety compliance and teamwork across many types of equipment including motors, wiring, and control systems. This position requires working in a safety‑conscious environment, handling industrial vehicles and tools, and performing administrative duties.

Salary

$24 – $42.24 per hour depending on experience.

Hours

Mon‑Thurs or Tues‑Fri 7 am‑5:30 pm or Mon‑Fri 7 am‑3:30 pm.

What Will I Be Doing?
  • Work in a safety‑conscious environment following PJHA, Observation process, and company/site safety guidelines.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools daily.
  • Work all shifts, including holidays and weekends when demanded.
  • Work from elevated areas using fall protection equipment.
  • Adhere to published schedules and remain flexible based on workload.
  • Perform daily assignments independently.
  • Maintain compliance with company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate industrial powered vehicles (RTFL, Forklift, Aerial Lift, Scissor Lift).
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial electrical components and equipment (lighting, protective devices, motors, inverters, soft starts, wye‑delta systems, and hard‑wired and Ethernet‑based control).
  • Use schematics, mathematics, and preventive/predictive technologies; basic computer literacy; safe electrical testing practices.
  • Calibrate and document instrumentation functions (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analytical instrumentation).
  • Troubleshoot process control loops.
  • Terminate motor starters, control and power wires; cut, thread, bend, install raceway and cable trays; follow NECA 101 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.
  • Achieve performance expectations, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist short‑ and long‑range planning.
  • Maintain personal tool lists and keep tools in good condition.
  • Meet physical requirements and perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work orders.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
What Makes Me Qualified?
  • Electronics or Industrial Electricity preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain State Journeyman Electrical License and/or ISA’s CCST Level 1 Certification.
  • Experience:

    2‑5 years of electrical experience and/or 1‑2 years of education in Electronics or Industrial Electricity.
  • Journeyman license indicates a skilled level.
Physical Demands

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Use ladders, stairs, and step stools.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment.

  • Arrange tasks in order.
Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places; fumes or airborne particles; chemicals; electrical shock; vibration; extreme heat or cold; wet or humid conditions; and loud noise.
