Overview

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting students aged 7‑19 with an autism diagnosis. This full‑time role offers a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism
  • Support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
  • Assist with differentiated curriculum delivery across primary and secondary age ranges
  • Implement behaviour support and sensory strategies as directed
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and social skills
  • Support personal care where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible and proactive attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs
  • A valid Child and Adult workforce DBS on update service or willing to apply
  • Relevant qualifications in education, care or SEN are desirable but not essential
