We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate tutor to support a young person in Year 3, who requires 1:1 mentoring and tuition within her school setting.
This pupil has struggled to attend school regularly for around a year due to anxiety, which Mum believes is linked to her SEND needs. She finds separating from Mum very difficult and often becomes highly anxious during transitions. She also has an ASD diagnosis.
The young person would benefit from both mentoring support to help her feel secure and emotionally regulated, as well as academic tuition focused on the primary curriculum. The aim is to begin with 1:1 sessions on site, help her build trust with a consistent adult, and gradually support her reintegration back into the classroom once she feels comfortable.
We are seeking someone patient, nurturing, and experienced in working with children with ASD and anxiety-related school avoidance. Building trust and helping her feel secure in the school environment will be essential to the success of this placement.
Key Details- 15 hours per week
- Based in the DT11 area
- Sessions will take place within her enrolled school
- Initial hours may be reduced, with a plan to build up gradually depending on her confidence and comfort
- Pay rate: £25-£30 per hour
If you're passionate about supporting young learners with SEND, this is your chance to truly transform a child's educational experience.
