The Role - Teacher (SEN Specialist)

As the class Teacher, you will:

Lead a small group of non-verbal students with significant learning needs
Deliver creative, sensory-based, and communication-focused SEN teaching
Use AAC, PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation strategies, and structured routines
Work closely with therapists, SEN specialists, and experienced support staff
Create a nurturing, predictable environment tailored to the needs of each learner
Support communication, emotional development, engagement, and independence

Ideal Candidate

Experience working with SEN, especially non-verbal or PMLD students (strongly preferred)
A calm, patient approach with a passion for inclusive, child-centred learning
QTS or equivalent qualification
Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, sensory integration, and communication methods
Commitment to supporting pupils with autism, complex learning needs, or profound communication barriers
