A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and nurturing independent SEN primary school in Milton Keynes. This small specialist setting is committed to providing high-quality support for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. The school prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere, supportive leadership team, and child-centred approach, ensuring every pupil receives the care and encouragement they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Work on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviours.
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Build strong, positive relationships that promote trust and confidence.
  • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, or additional needs is desirable.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
