A welcoming school in Milton Keynes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant in Milton Keynes to work closely with pupils with additional needs, providing tailored support that helps them grow both academically and emotionally.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will need to be calm, patient, and proactive, with previous experience supporting students with SEN in a one-to-one setting. You'll play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and able to succeed.
Please note: Previous experience working with SEN pupils in a 1:1 capacity is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant in Milton Keynes- Provide classroom and 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and other additional learning needs
- Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities and tailored support
- Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents where appropriate
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and academic progress throughout the school day
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEN, including 1:1 support (essential)
- Is patient, caring, and committed to helping children succeed
- Has experience working in a school or with children in a similar setting
- Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is reliable, adaptable, and able to use their initiative
