Westwood Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Brake Press Setter / Operator to join a manufacturing team based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced press brake professional who is confident setting, programming and operating CNC press brake machinery and can work accurately from engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, program and operate CNC brake press machinery.
* Work with Trumpf and/or Amada press brake machines.
* Read, interpret and work accurately from detailed engineering drawings.
* Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.
* Programme machines to produce components accurately and efficiently.
* Work with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless and aluminium:
* Work with varying material thicknesses and component sizes.
* Check finished components against engineering drawings and specifications.
* Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout production.
* Carry out first-off and in-process inspections where required.
* Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling or production issues.
* Ensure machinery and the working area are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
* Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Requirements
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with CNC brake presses.
* Experience in setting, programming and operating press brake machinery.
* Experience with Trumpf and/or Amada machines
* The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Good understanding of press brake programming, tooling and machine setup.
* Experience working with mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
* Experience working with a variety of material thicknesses.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
* A reliable and professional approach to work.
