Our client in Bloemfontein is seeking a professional and reliable Secretary to join their team. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.

Minimum requirements
- Matric
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Minimum of 3 years' administration experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be willing to work Saturdays, when needed

Duties and responsibilities
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence by providing professional, courteous, and compassionate assistance to clients, families, and colleagues
- Schedule and manage appointments, meetings, and diary commitments for management and staff, ensuring optimal organisation and minimal conflicts
- Welcome clients and visitors in a professional and empathetic manner, providing guidance and support during sensitive situations
- Maintain and organise records, files, and sensitive documentation securely and systematically to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with company policies
- Prepare, type, and distribute letters, reports, and other office documents accurately and efficiently
- Manage client queries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring that issues are resolved with care and discretion
- Assist with funeral service coordination, supporting arrangements, documentation, and communication to ensure smooth planning and execution of services
- Process payments, invoices, and other financial documentation with accuracy to support office and financial operations
- Monitor and maintain office supplies, ensuring that resources are available and replenished as needed to avoid disruptions
- Provide general administrative support to management and team members, contributing to the smooth and efficient running of daily operations
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all interactions, particularly when handling sensitive client or family information
- Support the team in ad hoc duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to ensuring operational efficiency
Remuneration
R 7 500 - R 10 000 basic (depending on experience)
Work hours
Monday - Friday: 08h00 - 17h00
Saturdays: 08h00 - 12h00 (when needed)
