About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and results-driven Construction Manager (Civil) to oversee and manage construction projects in the Bloemfontein area. This role demands exceptional leadership, meticulous planning, and a proven track record in delivering complex civil engineering projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for all aspects of the site operations, including personnel management, safety compliance, quality control, and client liaison.
The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and project life cycles within the Free State region.
- Plan, organize, and direct all on-site construction activities for civil engineering projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols on all construction sites.
- Oversee quality assurance and control processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and labor, fostering productive working relationships.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities regarding site operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a strong focus on civil infrastructure.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver successful outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Free State as needed.
