About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Planner to join their team in Bloemfontein , operating under a hybrid work model. This role is essential for developing, maintaining, and executing detailed construction schedules that ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders, dividing your time between on-site coordination and remote planning activities.
This is a key position for a meticulous planner looking to contribute to significant building projects in the Free State, offering a blend of on-site engagement and remote flexibility.
- Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using P6 or similar software, incorporating all project phases and activities.
- Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the optimal sequence of construction operations.
- Collaborate with site teams to gather progress updates and identify potential delays or conflicts.
- Monitor project performance against the baseline schedule, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare regular schedule updates, progress reports , and look-ahead programs for project stakeholders.
- Contribute to tender planning and bid preparation by developing preliminary construction schedules.
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler on medium to large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequences, and resource management.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in schedule development and analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with site personnel and management in both on-site and remote settings .
- A qualification in Construction Management or Engineering is advantageous.
