Construction Safety Officer - Industrial Projects

Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Construction Safety Officer to champion health and safety initiatives across their industrial construction projects in Bloemfontein . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. This critical role involves regular site inspections, risk assessments, training, and promoting a strong safety culture.

Your expertise will be vital in preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety plans for construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to all site personnel, including toolbox talks.
• Ensure all safety equipment is available, maintained, and used correctly.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and project management teams on safety matters.

• Certified Safety Officer (CSO) or equivalent qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction health and safety management.
• Thorough knowledge of South African occupational health and safety legislation.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes and associated hazards.
• Strong communication, leadership, and training skills.
