Civil Site Engineer - Infrastructure Development

Our client is seeking a diligent and hands-on Civil Site Engineer to oversee infrastructure development projects in and around Bloemfontein . This role is critical for ensuring the successful execution of construction activities, maintaining quality standards, and managing site operations effectively. You will be responsible for supervising construction crews, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring that all work complies with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.

This is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to address site challenges effectively. You will play a vital role in bringing complex civil engineering projects to fruition in the Free State province. The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of construction methods and a commitment to safety and quality.

• Supervise and manage daily on-site construction activities for civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, earthworks, bulk services).
• Ensure adherence to approved construction drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures.
• Monitor site progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient resource allocation and workflow.
• Implement and enforce stringent health and safety regulations on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare progress reports for project management.
• Manage site logistics, equipment, and materials effectively.
• Verify as-built information and participate in project handover processes.

• A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in site supervision and civil construction.
• Proven experience with earthworks, road construction, or bulk water/sewer infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in site management software and MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.
• ECSA registration (Pr Tech Eng, Pr Techni Eng, or EIT) is advantageous.
