Senior Construction Manager

Our client, a major player in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee significant infrastructure projects based in Bloemfontein, Free State . This demanding role requires a proven leader with extensive experience in managing large-scale civil engineering construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and site management.

This is a key position for driving project success in the Free State province.

• Oversee and manage all aspects of construction operations on-site, ensuring project objectives are met.
• Develop and implement detailed construction plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel effectively.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and approve payments.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate site records.

• National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large civil engineering construction projects (e.g., roads, dams, buildings).
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex teams and motivate site personnel.
• Experience working within the Bloemfontein or Free State region is a significant advantage.
