About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Principal Architect with a specialization in sustainable design to lead remote initiatives from anywhere within South Africa, supporting projects primarily based around Bloemfontein . This senior role requires a deep understanding of green building principles, energy efficiency, and environmentally responsible design strategies. You will be responsible for setting the sustainability agenda for projects, guiding design teams in implementing eco-friendly solutions, and advocating for innovative approaches to reduce environmental impact.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced architect to shape the future of sustainable architecture remotely.
- Lead the development and integration of sustainable design strategies across all project phases.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and life cycle analyses for proposed designs.
- Research and advocate for the use of sustainable materials, technologies, and building systems.
- Mentor design teams on best practices in energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with consultants, clients, and regulatory bodies to achieve sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Star).
- Present sustainability concepts and proposals to stakeholders, articulating the environmental and economic benefits.
- Professional registration as an Architect with SACAP.
- 10+ years of experience in architectural practice, with a significant focus on sustainable design .
- Demonstrated expertise in green building principles, passive design strategies, and renewable energy integration.
- Knowledge of relevant sustainability rating tools and certification processes.
- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire design teams in a remote setting.
