Duties And Responsibilities- Provide formal teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the Department of Curriculum Studies and Higher Education.
- Act as a supervisor for postgraduate students in the relevant field.
- Engage in the Work Integrated Learning Programme of the faculty (Teaching Practice).
- Ensure active involvement in research in a relevant field of Curriculum Studies and publish research articles in accredited national and international journals.
- Active involvement in curriculum development relating to the relevant field of Curriculum Studies.
- Apply for external funding grants for research and/or teaching and learning projects.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues in the department and faculty.
- Contribute to leadership and administrative tasks in the department and faculty.
- A Doctoral degree in Education on NQF Level 10 with specialisation in Curriculum Theory, Curriculum Policy or Research Methodologies.
- A minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a Higher Education Environment.
- Proven experience in teaching and learning management and/or module leadership.
- Experience as external examiner for postgraduate students.
- Proven experience in the presentation of research papers/posters at national and preferably international scholarly conferences, where there is evidence of peer review of papers.
- Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
- An NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
- Proven experience in supervision of graduated honours and master’s degree students.
- A proven research record of relevant publication/s in peer-reviewed national and internationally accredited scientific journals.
- Proven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at higher-education levels.
- Evidence of involvement as a PI, Co-PI or Researcher in a grant-funded research project in the past 5 years.
- Proven experience in one or more engaged scholarship projects in the past 5 years.
- Experience in the use of different research methodologies and/or data analysis tools
- Experience in grant writing and/or preparing research funding applications.
