About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Youth Mentor to support young people in Bloemfontein . This hybrid role focuses on empowering adolescents and young adults to achieve their personal, academic, and career goals. You will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical advice, acting as a positive role model and advocate. Working within a flexible hybrid model, you will engage with youth both in person and through virtual platforms, connecting them with opportunities and resources within the Free State community.

- Establish supportive relationships with assigned mentees, fostering trust and open communication.
- Develop personalized mentoring plans based on mentees' goals, interests, and challenges.
- Facilitate skill-building activities, such as study habits, communication techniques, and goal setting.
- Provide guidance on educational pathways, career exploration, and job readiness.
- Connect mentees with relevant community resources, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.
- Monitor mentee progress, celebrate achievements, and address any emerging issues collaboratively.
- Proven experience working with youth in an educational, mentoring, or social support capacity.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and the challenges facing young people today.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for remote communication and engagement.
- A genuine commitment to empowering young individuals and fostering their potential within the Bloemfontein area.
