University Librarian - Research Support

Our client seeks a dynamic and knowledgeable University Librarian with a focus on Research Support for their campus in Bloemfontein. This role is essential for assisting faculty and students with their research endeavors, providing access to vital resources, and promoting information literacy. You will be at the forefront of supporting academic inquiry and scholarly communication within the vibrant university community in the Free State.

• Provide expert research assistance and consultation services to faculty, researchers, and students.
• Manage and curate library collections, including digital resources, databases, and archival materials.
• Develop and deliver workshops on research methodologies, citation management, and scholarly communication.
• Collaborate with academic departments to integrate library resources into the curriculum and research projects.
• Stay current with emerging trends in librarianship, digital scholarship, and academic research support.

• A Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in academic or research library services.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies, scholarly publishing, and information literacy principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in using library management systems and research databases, vital for serving the Bloemfontein campus.
