Senior Geography Educator

Our client is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Geography Educator to lead the Geography department at a respected institution in Bloemfontein . This role involves inspiring students with a passion for understanding the Earth's physical and human systems, encouraging critical analysis of geographical issues, and promoting spatial awareness. You will be responsible for curriculum development, innovative teaching methodologies, and fostering a dynamic learning environment.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of geographical concepts and a commitment to guiding students towards academic excellence and environmental consciousness.

• Develop and deliver comprehensive Geography curriculum, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental studies.
• Employ diverse teaching methods, including fieldwork, map analysis, GIS technology, and data interpretation.
• Assess student learning through various methods such as essays, presentations, practical exams, and fieldwork reports.
• Mentor and guide junior Geography teachers within the department, fostering professional development.
• Organize and lead educational field trips and excursions to enhance practical learning experiences.
• Promote student understanding of current global environmental and social issues.

• A Master's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of teaching experience in Geography, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
• Proficiency in GIS software, statistical analysis, and cartography.
