Special Needs Education Assistant

Our client seeks a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Education Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs within a specialized program in Welkom . This role involves providing individualized assistance to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive educational experience.

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs as directed by the teacher.
• Assist students with learning tasks, academic activities, and the development of life skills.

• Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and therapy recommendations.
• Assist with personal care needs of students where required, maintaining dignity and respect.

• Relevant qualification or certification in Special Needs Education or a related field.
• Previous experience working as an Education Assistant or in a similar support role with children with special needs.
• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of various learning disabilities and behavioral challenges.
