High School Science Teacher

Our client is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable High School Science Teacher to join their academic staff in Welkom . This role is crucial for inspiring students to explore the wonders of science, fostering critical thinking and experimental skills. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality science education across various disciplines, potentially including Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, for grades 10-12. You will contribute to a positive learning environment, preparing students for higher education and future scientific careers, while working in a setting that blends traditional classroom instruction with modern educational technologies and potentially some remote engagement components.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Conduct laboratory experiments and practical sessions safely and effectively, teaching scientific methodology.
• Assess student understanding through assignments, tests, projects, and active participation, providing timely feedback.
• Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and scientific inquiry.
• Integrate technology and digital resources into lesson delivery to enhance student engagement.
• Collaborate with other science department members and school staff to improve curriculum and teaching practices.

• A relevant degree in Science (e.g., BSc) and a postgraduate qualification in Education (PGCE).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification recognized in South Africa.
• Proven experience teaching science at the high school level.
• Strong subject matter expertise in at least one major science discipline.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
• Familiarity with integrating digital tools and resources in education.
