Wind Turbine Technician - Field Service

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Wind Turbine Technician to join their field service team in the Bloemfontein area. This hands-on role involves the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. You will be working at heights and in various weather conditions, adhering strictly to safety protocols. This position is critical for maintaining the operational efficiency of our wind farms and requires a dedicated individual who is proactive, technically adept, and committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in the field.

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of wind turbines according to manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues within the turbine systems.
• Install, commission, and decommission wind turbine components as required.
• Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including working at heights and using lockout/tagout procedures.
• Document all work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and parts used.

• Technical qualification or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Wind Turbine Technology.
• Proven experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar mechanical/electrical field service role.
• Ability to work safely at heights and in demanding environmental conditions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with wind turbine systems and components.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites near Bloemfontein.
