About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to oversee drilling operations on their sites near Bloemfontein . This hands-on role requires extensive knowledge of drilling practices, safety protocols, and rig management. You will be responsible for ensuring that all drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage rig crews, troubleshoot operational issues, and maintain high standards of performance in the field operations of Free State .
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate all drilling operations on the rig site, ensuring adherence to the drilling plan and safety procedures.
- Manage and mentor rig personnel, ensuring effective teamwork and performance.
- Monitor drilling parameters, identify potential problems, and implement solutions to maintain drilling efficiency and wellbore integrity.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks with the rig crew.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure all drilling equipment is functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate daily drilling reports and communicate progress and issues to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in drilling operations, with at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Proven experience with various drilling rigs and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of drilling fluids, well control, and directional drilling techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a remote and demanding environment.
