Junior Electrical Technologist

BVi Consulting Engineers Central (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Junior Electrical Technologist in their Bloemfontein office. This will be a permanent position.

• Support Project Leaders in the planning, design and delivery of electrical infrastructure and building services projects.
• Assist with contract administration throughout all project phases.
• Undertake site inspections and attend site meetings to monitor construction progress and quality.
• Prepare technical reports for all stages of projects, including:
  • Inception Reports
  • Design Reports
  • Tender Reports
  • Quality Compliance Reports
  • Monthly Progress Reports
• Provide technical support and construction oversight during implementation phases.
• Monitor construction quality and compliance with project specifications, standards and applicable regulations.
• Liaise with contractors, clients and project stakeholders under the guidance of Project Leaders.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects by ensuring deadlines, quality standards and project objectives are achieved.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and engineering skills towards professional registration.

The ideal candidate will have practical exposure to the electrical construction industry and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within a consulting engineering environment.

Experience in one or more of the following roles will be advantageous:

• Site Assistant
• Resident Engineer Assistant
• Design Engineer Assistant
• Electrical Construction Site Engineer

Hands-on experience in electrical construction projects will be considered a strong advantage.

• BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University of Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-graduate experience within the electrical construction sector.
• Valid Code B driver's license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or electrical design software will be advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong report writing, analytical and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
