Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railway Signaling Systems Engineer to join our team in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of railway signaling systems, including the specification, testing, and commissioning of signaling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering, with a focus on railway signaling systems.

The Railway Signaling Systems Engineer will work closely with our customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure that our signaling systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement railway signaling systems, including the specification, testing, and commissioning of signaling equipment
  • Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure that signaling systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance
  • Develop and implement signaling system designs, including the creation of technical specifications and documentation
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to ensure that signaling systems are installed and functioning correctly
  • Collaborate with other teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure that signaling systems are integrated with other rail systems
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in railway signaling systems, including design, development, and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of railway signaling principles, including safety, reliability, and performance
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop creative solutions
Education

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, with a focus on railway signaling systems. A postgraduate degree in a related field may be an advantage.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in railway signaling systems, including design, development, and implementation. Experience in a related field, such as rail engineering or transportation systems, may also be considered.

Salary

The salary for this position will be R 550,000 - R 850,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
