About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with expertise in Water and Wastewater Systems to join their Bloemfontein team. This position is vital for designing, developing, and managing essential water infrastructure projects that serve the community. You will be involved in everything from potable water supply networks to advanced wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring public health and environmental protection. The ideal candidate will possess strong hydraulic design skills, a thorough understanding of treatment processes, and a commitment to delivering sustainable and reliable water solutions for the Free State province.
Key Responsibilities- Design and oversee the construction of water supply networks, pumping stations, and storage facilities.
- Develop and implement wastewater collection systems and treatment plant designs.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and sewer systems.
- Prepare engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant environmental regulations, health standards, and municipal by-laws.
- Manage project execution, liaise with contractors, and monitor construction quality to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water or Environmental Engineering; ECSA registration is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
