Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer to oversee the planning and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects in Bloemfontein . This role demands a comprehensive understanding of public works, including water, sanitation, and road systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of essential services to the community, managing projects from conception through to completion. Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and management of municipal infrastructure projects such as water supply networks, sewage systems, and urban roads.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and prepare detailed project documentation and cost estimates.
- Ensure all projects adhere to municipal bylaws, national standards, and environmental regulations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and contractor performance to ensure successful project delivery.
- Liaise with municipal officials, community stakeholders, and other departments to facilitate project progress.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff within the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in municipal infrastructure engineering and project management.
- Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA or proven experience at a senior level.
- Strong knowledge of water and sanitation systems, road design, and urban planning principles.
- Experience with public procurement processes and contract management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills within a municipal context.
