Our client is looking for a skilled Water Resources Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Welkom . This role involves managing and optimizing water-related infrastructure projects, focusing on sustainable water supply, wastewater management, and stormwater control. You will contribute to the design and implementation of solutions that address the region's water challenges, ensuring reliable and efficient water resources for the community.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and water system design, coupled with excellent project management capabilities. This is a key position for an engineer passionate about environmental sustainability and infrastructure development in the Free State.
- Design and develop water supply systems, including treatment plants, distribution networks, and reservoirs.
- Plan and implement wastewater collection and treatment systems, adhering to environmental regulations.
- Manage stormwater drainage design and flood control measures for urban and rural developments.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling to assess water availability, flood risks, and system performance.
- Prepare detailed design reports, specifications, tender documents, and construction supervision plans.
- Collaborate with environmental specialists, government bodies, and construction teams to ensure project compliance and success.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources engineering.
- Proficiency in water modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS, Info Works).
- Experience with project management and contract administration.
- Strong understanding of South African water legislation and environmental standards.
