About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their team based in Bloemfontein . This role is crucial for optimizing the mineral processing operations, ensuring efficient extraction and recovery of valuable commodities. You will be responsible for analyzing process performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements to enhance throughput, recovery rates, and product quality. This is an on-site position requiring hands‑on involvement in the operational environment, working closely with plant personnel and management to achieve production goals and maintain high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and optimize mineral processing plant operations, including comminution, flotation, and leaching circuits.
- Conduct process simulation and modeling to identify areas for improvement and test new strategies.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent product quality and maximize recovery.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support to plant personnel.
- Lead or participate in process improvement projects, feasibility studies, and equipment evaluations.
- Ensure operations comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral processing and metallurgy.
- Proven experience with various processing techniques such as crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
