About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Design Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role is crucial for the planning, design, and implementation of water infrastructure projects, including dams, pipelines, water treatment plants, and wastewater systems. You will contribute to ensuring sustainable water management and supply for communities in the Free State province.
The position requires a strong technical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions in a collaborative office environment.
- Design and develop water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution networks and stormwater systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform site assessments and provide engineering support during construction phases.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant environmental regulations and SANS standards for water quality and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists and other specialists to ensure integrated project solutions.
- BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.) registration with ECSA is preferred.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of water treatment processes, pipeline design, and stormwater management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
