About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resource Engineer to join their municipal services team in Welkom. This role is vital for managing and optimizing water and wastewater systems for the Free State region. You will be involved in the design, implementation, and maintenance of water infrastructure, ensuring the provision of safe and reliable water supply and effective wastewater management. • Design and oversee the construction of water supply systems, including treatment plants, pipelines, and reservoirs.
• Develop and implement wastewater collection and treatment solutions.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution networks and drainage systems.
• Manage water resource planning, including demand forecasting and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and project proposals related to water resources.

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering projects.
• Proficiency in relevant hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterCAD).
• Understanding of water treatment processes and distribution network management.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation pertaining to water and sanitation in South Africa.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
