About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer with expertise in water treatment technologies to join their environmental solutions division in Bloemfontein. This role is central to developing and implementing advanced water purification and wastewater management systems for industrial and municipal clients. You will be responsible for process design, operational troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with stringent environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability and possesses a strong technical foundation in water chemistry and treatment processes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and engineer water and wastewater treatment processes and systems.
- Conduct treatability studies and pilot testing for various water sources.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Provide technical support during project execution, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize existing water treatment facilities.
- Ensure all designs and operations comply with relevant environmental standards and permits.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in the design and application of water and wastewater treatment technologies.
- Strong knowledge of physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes.
- Familiarity with membrane technologies, ion exchange, and disinfection methods.
- Experience with relevant software for process simulation and design.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects in the Bloemfontein region.
